Trans with Pride 2007

Trans With Pride 2007
Friday 15th June
9.30-5.30
As part of this year’s London Pride, Transfabulous are hosting the
Trans with Pride one-day conference event at
Oxford House, Derbyshire Street, Bethnal Green, E2 6HG
The aims of this one-day conference are to bring together members of our community from across London, different regions of the UK and indeed from countries beyond the UK.
This conference will gather, broaden and strengthen our voices by specifically engaging with four key areas that impact on our lives. These four areas arose from a series of open meetings where 18 individuals contributed to the shaping of the conference event. The day will put forward ideas, suggestions and solutions the conference attendees have within these four areas of focus, so that we might be Trans with Pride.
The Trans with Pride Conference seeks to act as a place and a space where positive solutions to a range of challenges and problems are generated.
Delegates will each be involved in one working strand and will be asked to commit to that strand for the day. Each strand workshop will be facilitated so that everyone will have an opportunity to bring their ideas and solutions to the group. To add diverse perspectives to the discussions we are inviting activists, writers, trade unionists, health professionals and trans organisations’ representatives to join with, and contribute to the workshops.
Kate Bornstein will be with us, giving a keynote address, and offering reflections on emerging themes at the end of the day.
As a delegate, you will need to choose one strand and attend a morning session and an afternoon session within that strand. The emphasis is on working in these four groups to produce particular outcomes as appropriate to the focus of the strand. For this reason, we are asking that you make a choice and stay with that group for both sessions during the day. When registration opens, you’ll be asked to indicate your first and second choices.
This conference will be productive and proactive
The conference is absolutely free!
There will be 130 delegates attending
Registration will open on Friday 4th May for you to reserve your place!!!
